Celebrity chef Matty Matheson is designing the menu for Maker Pizza’s newest outpost

Maker Pizza has opened a brand new location in the city’s east end, with the help of Canadian celebrity chef, Matty Matheson.

Located at 102C-388 Carlaw Avenue, this is Maker’s third location in the city, with the other two locations being on Cameron St. and Avenue Rd.

Matheson recently become a partner with the pizza franchise, and owner Shlomo Buchler says that the menu at the new spot will stick to the familiar favourites that Maker is known for: pizzas, sandwiches, and desserts, like those delicious chocolate chip cookies, but that Matheson is already getting started on some new creations.

“We have a shortlist of some pretty incredible new pizza creations, which we plan on introducing as seasonal specials,” Buchler says. “Matty has a unique and uncanny ability to create topping combinations that blend beautifully. We are currently working on a pizza that will replace our Return of the Mac. I can’t say much more than that, but I promise you it will not disappoint!”

The new location operates as a satellite restaurant, which means that although there’s no indoor or outdoor dining, online orders and call-ins for delivery and take-away are easily fulfilled.

“If a customer is within our delivery radius we will get them their order pretty much wherever they are,” Buchler says.

The arrival of Maker’s newest spot is cause for celebration for Buchler and the team at Maker, who knows the neighbourhood very well.

“I lived on the east end for over seven years, and I consider it my home,” Buchler says. “I feel very fortunate under the circumstances. The east end has been on my radar since day one. To be able to bring Maker home after all this time and to share what we think is our best product to date with the community, with all of my old friends and neighbours, it’s a dream come true.”
