Every Tuesday, we round up the best events from the city’s fashion scene. In this edition: a Valentine-themed pop-up for a local jewellery designer, a sample sale at a sustainable clothing shop, a preview of a new fall/winter collection and more.
When: Feb. 6, 6-8 p.m.
Where: West Elm, 109 Atlantic Ave.
Details: It might seem far away, but spring is just around the corner. Prepare for colour and life to return to the city with West Elm’s Spring Social event, which will showcase some new floral and gardening ideas from some of the city’s florists and stylists.
When: Feb. 6-10
Where: 1415 Dundas St. W.
Details: Known for its sustainable designs (made from recycled fabrics), Preloved has been a staple of Toronto’s fashion scene for nearly two decades. Head to Preloved’s annual sample and warehouse sale this week to score deals. Prices will range from $10 to $70.
When: Feb. 7, 6-10 p.m.
Where: 1179 King St. W., Unit #008
Details: Get a head start on Toronto Fashion week by taking a sneak peek at OSC Cross’ new fall/winter collection this Thursday night. There may not be a runway involved, but there will be a DJ, drinks and coats to try on. Trust us, party presentations are way more fun anyway.
When: Feb. 7-17
Where: Miracle Thieves, 249 Crawford St.
Details: With busy our schedules, it’s rare to find the time to sit down and create something anymore. Perhaps that’s why we currently have such an affinity for buying crafty items. Either way, Miracle Thieves has brought together 14 female artists from Toronto to create limited-edition crafts centred on the idea of love. Participating artists include Robin Lacambra, Mika Sato, and Vanessa Warrack of Bully Boy Lingerie. Don’t miss the launch party this Thursday night from 7-11 p.m.
When: Feb. 8-10
Where: Oz Studios, 134 Ossington Ave.
Details: What better way to prep for Valentine’s Day than to hit a local pop-up shop and indulge in sweets, love potions, jewellery “and all things amorous?” This Friday, the girls behind one of the city’s favourite jewellery brands, Blackbird, are setting up shop on Ossington to sell you all of these things. Cash, debit and credit are all accepted.
